The story of Watch and Walk began when God delivered Ebenezer from addiction to obscenities and lust. Upon reflecting on his experience Ebenezer began to observe the connection between one’s viewing habits and character formation. Following his conviction that one cannot effectively live out the Christian faith if he or she consumes bad media content, Ebenezer prayerfully pondered ways that he could avail edifying media content to people. In July 2010, God led him to establish Watch and Walk Ministry at Grace Baptist Church (Kumasi-Ghana). The ministry later evolved into an interdenominational Christian ministry that operates both in Ghana and at Baylor's Truett Seminary (Waco, Texas)
Dr. Ebenezer Adu-Gyamfi is passionate about helping young people to experience the authority and relevance of God’s word in contemporary culture. After working as a French teacher and leading Watch and Walk for over seven years, Ebenezer was encouraged by his wife Juta to enhance his ministerial skills by pursuing theological education. When the couple got a confirmation from God about this thought, Ebenezer resigned as a full-time Assistant French Lecturer at Ghana Baptist University College and a part-time French Lecturer at Garden City University College (both in Kumasi, Ghana) and applied to George W. Truett Seminary (Baylor University, Waco, Texas, U.S.) to study Master of Divinity (MDiv). Ebenezer holds MDiv and DMin degrees from Truett Seminary. He also serves as the President of Watch & Walk (Truett Chapter), and teaches English and Theory of Knowledge at Luther Burbank High School (San Antonio, Texas). Ebenezer is married to Juta and they have two children (Akosua and Kwaku)
